About RG Gregory
Over a long life RG Gregory’s concerns have been with the relationship between word and action (being and doing) and with the significance of form.
A teacher in Hampshire, Uganda and Shropshire, he then spent 30 years with Word And Action in Dorset – a theatre and language arts organisation, involving formal and participatory performances, much poetry and the publication of books and poetry magazines (Including SOUTH), retiring to become enabler in local U3A Poetry-writing group.
In all his activities he has abandoned the platform for the round and, underlying this hugely symbolic gesture, has developed a prolific commitment to poetry and play writing.
His poems have appeared in many magazines and recently have spread across the internet. His work ranges from haiku to book length sequences, and includes a photo-play (long poem with 58 collages) several shape-poems and over 700 poem graphics.
He has written over 20 plays for school, youth and adult productions-in-the-round.
